Jeremy Lin is a basketball player that has rose to the top of the NBA in two weeks! Jeremy Lin plays for the New York Knicks. Last year Jeremy Lin played for the Golden State Warriors but he was not recognized as much as he is now, he plays point guard and his jersey number is 17. He averages 14.6 points and 5.7 assists per game. The sponsors are talking about putting him on the cover of NBA 2k13. Jeremy Lin has fans all over the world. They are buying his jersey's and T-shirts. Fans uses a lot of phrases for Jeremy Lin such as, "lintillect, linsane, linsanity, LIN V P, Jeremy Lin Laden and Linning". Lin played against some of the best players in the league such as Kobe, Dirk Nowitzki, Deron Williams and he plays Lebron James and Dwayne Wade on Thursday.
I like Jeremy Lin a lot. I knew he was on the Golden State Warriors unlike other people. I think they are actually piping his heart up too much though. The producer of 2k are trying to put him on 2k13 and he was only recognized. If he messes up or does not win the championship i'm pretty sure people will start to call him a sell out. They should treat him as he is, just because he makes a lot of points, crossed over John Wall and shot in Dirk Nowitizki's face, he shouldn't be pushed that much. He is also in the All Star game. To sum it up Jeremy Lin is over rated, but he is a very good player in my opinion.

I'm a Criminal and so are you
Everyone in the United States of America is a criminal. You are a criminal, you might not know but you'll find out when you get caught! We read an article in class and found out a lot of people are criminals. A lady named Michelle Alexander wrote this article. She said that people who get arrested should not have as many rights as they had before they got put in prison. If everyone is a criminal, I don't think she should think this way but that's her opinion. People should be able to do what they want to. She should not judge other people's decisions.
I think people should still have the same amount of rights as they did before they were arrested. About three million people are arrested as of now. Some people should get out of jail and have equal rights; It depends on what they do. If someone just J-walks or steals from a store or even gets in a fight they should get arrested; They should get out with their equal amount of rights. If that person commits a more serious crime like murder, rape or possession of a lot of drugs then they should be arrested and get out of jail with less rights than they had when they went in. I think she is over exaggerating about this situation asking people are they criminals. If "everyone is a criminal" she should leave it at that and stop asking people questions. That could lead her into some trouble.

Harsh Conditions In China
Our class just read an article called "In China, Human Costs Are Built Into an iPad". It was written by Charles Duhigg and David Barboza. The article is about the workers making apple products in harsh conditions. They work inside of plants and factories. Apple workers say they want better wroking conditions, but it would cost a lot of money. Two explosions happened, four people died and about 80 people were injured. The Chinese people told Apple they were working in bad conditions and nothing was done about it. One day last May a worker named Lai Xiadong got half of his face blown off because of the working conditions he was in. Steve Jobs made the company Apple, he died in 2011. Lai died because of his injuries. They sent his ashes to and 150,000 dollars to his house. It has been more injuries and deaths because of the factories and places these people work in.
I don't think people should work in conditions like these, whether it's China or any other Country. People who get injured might start to sue if there is no contract involved. Apple might start to lose money because of what's going on. More people might start to die also. If the conditions are getting worse or already too bad they need to shut down the factories. Maybe they just need to improve the factories or find out what's causing these incidents to happen. If the conditions are too bad, the workers should just leave their job. If bad things have happened and nothing was done about it, i'm pretty sure more things are likely to happen.
